Feasibility Studies & Levee Evaluations

The Feasibility Studies & Levee Evaluations Section administers the Local Levees Assistance Program (LLAP) for local levees, which are not included in the Central Valley's State Plan of Flood Control. The objective of the LLAP is to assist local flood management agencies to evaluate and perform urgently needed repairs to levees and other flood control facilities that are critically eroded or unstable. This is a Statewide competitive program funded by Proposition 84 monies and consists of two funding venues: the Local Levee Evaluation Program funds primarily geotechnical investigations and evaluations of the conditions of existing levees; and the Local Levee Urgent Repair Program funds critical repairs of local levees, which have been decertified or are at risk of decertification by FEMA.
