Historic 1975 Aerial film coverage of the Delta

Background

A goal of the DRMS Phase 1 analysis, was to estimate future risks based on changes that occur due to climate change and the geomorphic changes such as environment and landscape that occur in the Delta. In 2011, the DKIP project funded a photogrammetry project which will preserve the historic 1975 aerial film coverage of the Delta and modernize the film by changing it to a digital format. Historic aerial photos are an important tool used to analyze the habitat characteristics and ecosystem complexity of the historical Delta landscapes and the changes that occur over time.

Project Description

The historic 1975 aerial film coverage of the Delta has been modernized to be compatible with today’s GIS software. The accuracy of the horizontal datum was improved.
